Blown Away

On the way out the door for our weekly Wednesday date night, Mom’s granny nanny, Barb, asked where we were going to eat.

“We’re going for sushi.  Its low cal and we’re still dieting,” I said, patting my slowly shrinking tummy.

“Well you look great,” she commented.  “How much have you lost?”

“So far twenty pounds for Bill, sixteen for me,” I replied proudly.

“You better be careful,” Barb quipped with a smile as we headed for the back door.  “You’ll just dry up and blow away!”

As we walked into the garage we could hear Mom’s concerned comment, “Well you know, it’s supposed to get windy later this week.”

Yes, definitely concerned that we’d be swept away. Thanks for the congrats. Got a ways to go but by Thanksgiving and Christmas we should be where we want to be – just in time to start plumping up again for the holidays!

I’m OK, Mom’s OK. You’re a sweetie for checking. Must be the hot Phoenix summer that’s slowed down my creative juices. I promise to get something out there next week. And get that blanket out for poor Miss Lilly – we don’t want her to get a frost bitten nose during those chilly July nights.
